How it works

From the data centre to every apartment.

We bring fibre into your property in three steps: from the data centre via the media distributor into every apartment. For internet, TV and phone you have one contact.

Request a Project
Cross-section of a residential building: the fibre runs from the technical room in the basement into every room.
  1. Direct line from the data centre

Your building is connected directly to the data centre, so residents do not share bandwidth with other buildings and enjoy the best connection.

    • Direct link per building
    • Bandwidth not shared with other buildings
  2. Fibre into the technical room

The media distributor or technical room is connected directly with fibre. We lay the lines into the property as FTTH or FTTB. With our four-fibre solution, three further fibres are available for services such as heating meter readers, digital notice boards or smart home.

    • FTTH and FTTB
    • Four-fibre solution
    • Open access
  3. Internet, TV and phone in every apartment

All in-building technology is installed by move-in day, so residents are online from day one. Internet up to 1 Gbit/s, TV and phone come from one provider, with one contact for everything.

    • Ready on move-in day
    • 50-1000 Mbit/s
    • One point of contact

Moving in

What should I do before moving in?

If you only want to use the free month for now and do not want to sign a contract yet, email your move-in date, the property address, your flat number (printed on the FRITZ!Box in your flat) and, optionally, your mobile number to service@dtnetservice.de at least three days before you move in. Your FRITZ!Box will then be active as soon as you move in.

How do I sign up?

The easiest way is online: in the availability check you choose your address, plan and options and sign the contract straight away. A paper contract is available there as well.

Check Availability

Can I use my own router?

Yes. A FRITZ!Box is pre-installed in the media distribution box, to rent or to buy. For your own device we need its MAC address plus make and model. Support for third-party devices is charged at a flat €75.

What is the “free month”?

On first occupancy your internet works from moving day and the first month is free. If you move in on 3 April, for example, you pay from 3 May. Just email your move-in date, name and address to service@dtnetservice.de at least three days in advance.

Are you the only provider in the building?

As we have equipped your building with fibre, we offer you our service. However, you are free to switch to another provider at any time: a third-party provider can access our line to the building via a handover point or rent our line to your flat. Please talk to your preferred provider directly about this.

How do I withdraw from my contract?

You can withdraw within 14 days of signing. Simply send an email to service@dtnetservice.de.

What is the remaining-term programme?

If your contract with your previous provider is still running, switching to us is free of charge for the remaining term, for up to 6 months. Just let us know at service@dtnetservice.de.

Products

Which plan is right for me?

50 Mbit/s is enough for browsing and occasional streaming, 100 Mbit/s for lots of streaming. 200 Mbit/s also suits home working, and 400 or 500 Mbit/s covers gaming too. 1 Gbit/s is the fastest option, also for families.

Which receiver do I need?

That depends on the signal source in your building, which is listed in your welcome brochure. Cable and processed satellite signals need a DVB-C receiver, satellite needs a DVB-S receiver and Unicable needs a DVB-S receiver with SCR or JESS support.

Do you offer TV packages?

Yes, we are happy to introduce our DT Net TV packages. For questions about external packages, please contact the relevant signal provider: Symbox 0800 1030010, Telekom 0800 3301201, Vodafone 0800 444059 3005. Your welcome brochure shows which TV signal source your flat has.

How can TV be billed?

With bulk billing there is one contract for the whole property, charged via your annual service charge statement from the property management. With individual billing there is a supply agreement with the developer or property management, residents sign their own contracts and are billed by that contract partner.

Moving out

What do I need to do when moving out?

Send us your cancellation together with proof of your move, such as your tenancy termination or a registration certificate.

Cancel online

How do I return the FRITZ!Box?

Unless agreed otherwise, send a short email to vertrieb@dtnetservice.de. We will then post you a return label so you can send the FRITZ!Box back free of charge.

Is there a special right of termination?

Yes, if you move to a property we do not serve. We will need suitable proof of this.

Troubleshooting

My internet is not working. What can I do?

Restart the FRITZ!Box: unplug it, wait one minute and plug it back in. Then check all cables, the Power and WLAN LEDs on the FRITZ!Box and the lights on the Genexis box. The LAN cable must be in LAN1 on both the FRITZ!Box and the Genexis box. If your connection has never been activated, or if this does not help, contact us by email or phone.

Fault hotline +49 9161 8719544

What if my speed is lower than expected?

Restart your devices first. If the speed is still too low, run a wired LAN speed test at iperf-ost.versatel.de and email the result to vertrieb@dtnetservice.de.

What if my phone line is not working?

Reset your phone settings and set them up again using our FTTB or FTTH guide. Contact us if incoming calls do not arrive, calls drop after about 30 seconds or you hear the announcement “Guthaben reicht nicht aus” (insufficient credit).

What if my TV is not working?

Check plugs and cables for damage, reset the receiver to factory settings and run a channel scan. For IPTV, also check your internet connection and activation code. If a technician visit is needed for a fault caused on your side, it costs €99.

Students

The internet in my residence is not working. What now?

Clear your browser cache and cookies, reconnect to the WLAN and restart your device. If it still does not work, request a callback or email support@dtnetservice.de, and be sure to say when you can be reached in your room.

How do I add or remove devices or recover my login?

Please send us the following. To add a device without double authentication: room number, username, the device’s IP or MAC address and name, your name and address, email address and a phone number for queries. To remove a device: username, room number, name and address, email address. Lost login details: room number, name, residence and move-in date.

How do I connect consoles, smart TVs or voice assistants?

Email the device’s MAC or IP address with your username, room number and residence to support@dtnetservice.de. You will receive an email once the device is activated.

Can I increase my speed?

That depends on your residence. Just ask us at support@dtnetservice.de.
